Reb Bradley, a retired pastor, has devoted his life to strengthening families. His classic bestseller Child Training Tips has sold thousands of copies to parents anxious to give their children the best start in life. Reb and his wife Beverly live in California, and have taught all six of their children at home.

Some might assume that since Reb is a speaker and writer on family life issues that he is someone who has done everything right, and therefore feels qualified to write Born Liberal Raised Right. In Reb’s own words: “Don’t I wish that were true!”

Reb says he does feel capable to tackle this subject, but not because he has done it all perfectly; hence the subtitle of his parenting book—“What I wish I knew when my children were young.” His gift, he says, “does not seem to be doing things right the first time—I am jealous of people like that. No, my gift is that of analysis and documentation—I make mistakes, then learn from my mistakes, and share the answers with others.” It is because Reb understands human nature and has taken careful notes on his parenting foibles, as well as the parenting journeys of so many thousands, that he has a basis for evaluating the dynamics of family life, culture, and politics.
